About Preudhomme Art x Artist Mahala Preudhomme
Preudhomme Art is a reflection of a life spent moving between places, cultures, and creative disciplines.
Rooted in West Indian heritage and shaped by a Southern upbringing in North Carolina, my practice is informed by migration, memory, community, and the stories we carry with us. After moving to Los Angeles with little more than ambition and $100 in my pocket, I built a creative career spanning painting, photography, and modeling, creating work for celebrity clients, traveling extensively, and experiencing the world through multiple lenses.
Living in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Washington State, and North Carolina, alongside travels throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, transformed the way I understand identity, beauty, belonging, and representation.
After stepping away from painting to pursue photography and an established career in modeling, I found myself returning to art with a renewed perspective. As a queer artist and storyteller, my work exists at the intersection of culture, movement, nostalgia, fashion, and human connection.
Preudhomme Art is an ongoing archive of places lived, people encountered, and experiences collected along the way—a celebration of memory, aspiration, and the beauty found in everyday moments.
